About

I like building the whole thing.

I am Nikolay Georgiev, a software engineer based in Varna, Bulgaria, with a Computer Science degree from the University of Ruse. By day I work as a backend developer at DXC Technology on an enterprise insurance platform, where the work is about reading large legacy systems carefully and shipping fixes through a real release process.

The rest of my time goes into systems of my own. Zone 32-19 is a community and commerce platform I build alone. USS X Academy is a production education platform I engineered for a training centre. J.A.R.V.I.S. is a local-first AI assistant built around the idea that models may advise but never act on their own authority. KObait is an embedded boat with its own radio protocol, and Malrynth is an operating system I am writing from scratch in Rust.

Next, I am deliberately broadening beyond TypeScript: Java, Spring Boot and Angular, through a ledger platform where financial correctness is the whole point.

01How I work

Four working rules

  1. 01

    Evidence over adjectives

Claims about a system should point at code, tests or a measurement. This site follows the same rule: statuses come from repositories, not from ambition.

  2. 02

    Own the whole system

Schema, API, realtime layer, payments, deployment and interface. I like knowing what happens at every layer, down to the boot loader.

  3. 03

    Safety is structure

One writer for the motors, a compiled ceiling on what an AI may execute, a webhook that can only apply once. Boundaries belong in code and tests.

  4. 04

    Write it down

Decision records, runbooks and honest status notes make long projects survivable, especially when AI agents are part of the team.

History

  1. Sep 2025 to present

Junior Backend Developer · DXC Technology

    Varna, Bulgaria

    • Develop and maintain backend functionality and web services on a large enterprise insurance platform for a major insurance group.
    • Trace defects through a substantial legacy codebase, find root causes and ship fixes through enterprise QA and release processes.
    • Picked up a proprietary, Prolog-like declarative rules language with little documentation, and work daily in English with distributed international teams.
  2. Feb 2025 to present

Independent engineer · Zone 32-19 and client work

    Varna, Bulgaria

    • Build and run Zone 32-19, my own community and commerce platform, and deliver USS X Academy, a production education platform for a training centre.
    • Develop J.A.R.V.I.S., KObait and Malrynth as long-running personal systems across AI, embedded hardware and operating systems.
  3. Oct 2024 to Sep 2025

    Content Moderator · Genpact

    Bucharest, Romania

    • Reviewed user-generated content against community policy under QA targets, and contributed process improvements adopted for the assigned market.
